CULTURAL CONVERSATIONS ON LOCAL LANGUAGES SERIES NO. 2: THE MANG’ANJA PERSPECTIVES.
Tonight at 6 PM, series No 2 of the cultural conversations on local languages features a renowned Historian *Mr. Puleni Chilikunzako* who will deliver a lecture on the Mang’anja perspectives towards the Petition on local languages that was submitted to Parliament on 6th October 2020.

In this lecture, Mr. Puleni Chilikunzako will do the following:
1. Use historical evidence to validate the issues raised in the Petition.
2. Argue why the Mang’anja who were among the distinct but closely related people that constituted the ancient Maravi Kingdom (along side Nyanja, Ntumba, Mbo, Chipeta, Chewa etc), support the cause of the Petition.
3. Demonstrate how some credible historical sources do not support the points raised in the press statement issued by Chewa Heritage Foundation (CHEFO) on the Petition that appeared on page 5 of the Nation newspaper of 7th October 2020.
